  Lakeview is a middle of the road Evangelical Holiness Church in the Wesleyan tradition sharing similar doctrines with the Wesleyan Church, the Salvation Army, The Free Methodist Church and others. With more than 2 millions members in 156 countries around the world the Church of the Nazarene is touching real needs from medicine and education to disaster relief and child sponsorship. Lakeview Church has been in existence since 1953 and at her present location since 1985. The local congregation works with organizations such as the Gideons International, World Vision, The Jesus Film, the Salvation Army, The Good Samaritan Clinic of Haywood County, and Haywood Christian Ministries, among others. The congregation meets weekly on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. for Sunday School. 11:00 a.m. for worship, 6:00 p.m. for Bible Study, and on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. for dinner and 6:30 for youth and adult Bible Studies and Prayer. The local congregation strives to give away 10% of her total income per year for Christian world evangelism. Her motto is "Making Christlike Disciples in the Nations and in Western North Carolina".
